Overview
Just One Video is a Chrome extension that helps prevent accidental navigation to the next short-form video while you are watching YouTube Shorts or Instagram Reels. It can block vertical wheel or trackpad scrolling, the Arrow Down key, and Instagram’s on-screen Next/down navigation button.
The extension does not hide videos and remains inactive on ordinary YouTube and Instagram pages. This policy applies to the Just One Video Chrome extension and this privacy-policy website.
Information we collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information or browsing data.
This includes names, email addresses, account identities, payment information, locations, authentication information, communications, browsing history, video content, comments, messages, and other webpage content.
Information processed locally
To decide whether navigation should be prevented, the extension temporarily processes limited information inside your browser:
- The current YouTube or Instagram URL
- Mouse-wheel and trackpad events
- Arrow Down keyboard events
- Pointer and click events
- Limited information about a clicked element when identifying Instagram’s Next/down button
This processing is used solely to determine whether navigation should be prevented. It is not recorded, retained, or transmitted.
Permissions and website access
The extension needs access to these websites because both use client-side navigation: you can enter Shorts or Reels without a full page reload. The content script must therefore be available throughout each domain, but its blocking behavior activates only on YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels routes.
How information is used
Locally processed information is used only to:
- Detect whether you are viewing Shorts or Reels
- Detect an attempted navigation to the next video
- Prevent that navigation
Data storage and retention
- No personal information is stored
- No browsing activity is logged
- No extension data is retained, including in Chrome storage
- No information is sent to a remote server
Data sharing and sale
No information is sold, rented, shared, transferred, or disclosed to third parties. The extension does not send data to the developer or anyone else.
Third-party services
The extension does not integrate with analytics providers, advertising networks, data brokers, or other third-party data services. It does not use external APIs.
You interact directly with YouTube and Instagram, which have their own independent privacy policies. Managed Code Systems does not control those services or their privacy practices.
Security
The extension minimizes privacy and security risks by processing its functionality locally, requesting only the website access required for its stated purpose, avoiding remote code and external data transmission, and avoiding analytics and tracking.
No method of software operation can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure. This policy therefore describes the extension’s actual design and data practices without making an absolute security guarantee.
Children’s privacy
The extension does not knowingly collect information from children or anyone else because it collects no personal information.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the extension’s functionality or data practices change. Material changes will be reflected by changing the “Last updated” date near the top of this page.
